How to tell the rationality of grading of grinding medium in the ball mill

You need to judge the rationality of the grading of the grinding body in the ball mill. In the production, product quality and milling sound are the two main factors for the judgment. The management staff should analyze whether it is reasonable by mainly applying sieving analysis method and the yield and quality data analysis.

1. Yield and quality

If the production is normal and the product particle size is too coarse, it indicates that the material flows too fast and the grinding ability is too strong. At this time, take out the steel balls in the first silo and add grinding medium to the second silo. If the capacity is too low and the granularity is too small, increase the grinding media in the first silo. If the two material layers are very thick, and the yield is low and material fineness is hard to control, the grinding media are too few, resulting into plugging.

2. The milling sound

In normal feeding, if the impact sound of balls in the first silo is especially loud, it shows that the average diameter is high and filling factor is too small. As a result, the filling rate should be strengthened and the average diameter be reduced. The normal sound in the second silo should be mild.

3. Observe the electric current

On the condition that material feeding is normal, the fineness will be coarser. If the electric current in the elevator is normal and that in the main engine is low, it shows that the grinding body is insufficient or grading is not reasonable

4. Observation and test when the mill stops

Normally, the steel ball is higher than the material surface by half in the first silo. If it exposes too much, there must be overload and vise versa.
